Northrop Employee Honored for Community Service by Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers

The Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers honored Northrop Grumman Corp. employee Rudy Loera with a community service award at the society’s annual conference in Anaheim, Calif.

Loera is chairman of community involvement and corporate citizenship for Northrop’s Hispanic employee resource group Adelante. The company has awarded him its Small Business Special Recognition for Outstanding Performance in 2001, 2002 and 2004.

A company release says Loera gives classroom “Out-of the Box Engineering” presentations and provides tutoring and mentoring services.  Loera also hosts company facility tours for students in Southern California middle schools serving low-income Hispanics.
