Profile: Larry Grant, KGS President and Chief Operating Officer

Larry Grant, KGS

Larry Grant joined KGS in 2006 and has been acting president, leading and overseeing all of KGS’s client relationships, business strategies, solutions and service offerings, partnerships, internal operations and teams of professional associates.

The company has grown from $27 million to $115 in revenue through organic growth and acquisitions under his leadership, according to the company.

Before he joined KGS, Grant acted as General Dynamics’ national and defense intelligence solutions southern region director, responsible for contracts and personnel operating in the Southeastern U.S., Cuba and the Middle East.

Grant served for 20 years in the U.S. Air Force before his career at General Dynamics. He retired as a lieutenant colonel, but held positions as a computer and communications officer as well as acting as intelligence director. He served as chief information offer, directorate of intelligence at U.S. Central Command during Operations Desert Thunder, Desert Fox and Enduring Freedom. Additionally, Grant was awarded the Defense Superior Service Medal.

Grant holds a bachelors from Troy University and a masters from Webster University. He attended the Joint Staff Officers College in Norfolk, Va., the Air Command and Staff College at Maxwell Air Force Base, Ala., and the Squadron Officers School at Maxwell AFB.

Outside the workplace, Grant was the forwards coach for the 2010 National Champion Tampa Krewe Rugby Team and as the assistant coach and forwards coach for the Florida Collegiate Under-23 All Star Team. He has also coached the U.S. Air Force Rugby Team, the U.S. Armed Forces Rugby Team, the University of South Florida Rugby Team, the Tampa Bay Titans Rugby Team and served a short stint with the U.S. National Rugby Team as assistant manager.
