Rick Parkington is senior vice president and chief technology officer at STG Inc., where he oversees the company’s solution architect team and internal information technology division.
Parkington is also responsible for developing and implementing technical solutions at STG.
Previously, Parkington served General Dynamics’ IT business unit as senior vice president and CTO for the intelligence solution division. There he developed approaches to fulfill the needs of both the intelligence community and command and control customers. He also provided advice for technical compliance and leads the division’s technology and innovation strategy.
Prior to his civilian career, Parkington was a pilot in the U.S. Navy. He served in operational squadrons including exchange duty with the Royal Australian Air Force.
Parkington also served in technology positions including Senior Officer of the Operations Support Group of the Center for Naval Analyses, and the Technology Assistant to the Director of Defense Intelligence Agency.
While in the Navy, Parkington developed strategies for C4ISR and for information warfare on behalf of the Navy and the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
Parkington holds a master’s in engineering and information management from George Washington University; in national security and strategic studies from the U.S. Naval War College; and in international relations from Salve Regina University. He holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from the U.S. Naval Academy.
