Hui Chng Chan and Tania Datta will both present at the young professional workshop, which has a focus on “urban water and sanitation challenges.” The three day event will take place from Nov. 21–24, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Datta currently serves as a wastewater process engineer in CH2M HILL’s Salt Lake City, Utah, office and has experience in wastewater process modeling and design, wastewater treatment technologies, identification of molecular ecology and bioremediation of contaminated soil and sediments.
Datta’s presentation titled, “The future of global water and sanitation challenges: From a socio-economic perspective,” uses India as a case study to show how water and sanitation challenges are affected by economical and social factors.
Hui Chng Chan currently serves as a project manager in CH2M HILL’s Singapore office. With more than 10 years of experience, her background includes, master planning, wastewater treatment, water reuse, seawater desalination gravity wastewater collection networks and storm water systems.
Chan’s presentation titled, “Innovative Solutions: Coping with uncertainty in a time change: Innovative solutions to address future urban water and sanitation challenges,” focuses on how to manage urban storm water in an increasingly complex environment, while using the Singapore PUB Active Beautiful clean Waters Programme as an example.
