Commerce Department Names QTS Safe Harbor Compliant

QTS today announced that it has been registered with the United States Department of Commerce as Safe Harbor compliant.

The certification confirms that QTS meets the criterion of the European Union‘s directive on data protection, a rigorous set of privacy and personal data protection standards.

According to the company, difference in privacy approaches between the EU and U.S. will not affect data transfers. The certification will assist in growing business beyond U.S. borders, said the company.

“Achieving Safe Harbor is another important milestone for QTS,” said Kurt Stoever, executive vice president of operations at QTS. “As we see increasing demand for our data center and cloud services from global companies, it was vital that we assure them of our commitment to the EU’s privacy standards covered by Safe Harbor.”
