Lockheed Recieves “Facility of the Year” Award

A high-level secure voice conferencing center built by Lockheed Martin was selected as “Facility of the Year,” by the Defense Information Systems Agency.

The Lockheed manufactured center, located in the Pentagon, was selected in the“Large Switches” category. The award recognizes Defense Red Switch Network facilities that demonstrate excellence in performance.

“At the Pentagon, switch availability and functionality is key, given the high importance of the missions executed there,” said Terry White, program director for Lockheed Martin IS&GS-Defense.

The DRSN is responsible for providing high quality secure and non-secure communications exclusively for the Department of Defense. The system allows for the establishment of a massive security communications network, which includes telephones, air platforms and sea platforms in addition to various Allied instruments from single devices.
