Last week at Fort Belvoir, Va., about 85 Lockheed Martin employees, family and friends volunteered in partnership with the USO and put together care packages for U.S. troops deployed on overseas and domestic assignments.
“Whether they are working side by side with our customers in forward operating bases around the world or here in the U.S., Lockheed Martin employees have deep admiration and respect for our military servicemen and women,” said Carolyn Nelson, Lockheed’s acting director of global community outreach. “USO care packages are reminders from home to lift their spirits and show our support.”
A company release says Lockheed and its employees have donated more than $4.5 million since it began its employee care program in 2004.
