MarkLogic Govt. Summit to Explore How to Manage Big Data

MarkLogic Corporation and public sector customers will be discussing the benefits to leveraging big data for mission critical applications at the 2011 MarkLogic Government Summit, to take place Nov. 16 in Washington, D.C.

“The public sector was the first entity to face a true Big Data challenge, with technology requirements that range from catching the most dangerous people in the world to preserving some of the most important documents in history,” said Randall Jackson, vice president of MarkLogic’s public sector division.

Jackson indicated that the summit will demonstrate how “government organizations are addressing these issues and successfully implementing technology solutions that help them make the best decisions possible.”

The conference will also feature sessions detailing how the departments of Transportation and Defense have dealt with these issues as well as how Fairfax County, Va. is attracting new businesses and residents.

The summit includes three public sector focused tracks:

  • The Solutions Track: MarkLogic Public Sector customers will provide valuable insight into how their organizations are using big data solutions to exploit massive volumes of mission-critical information.
  • The Thought Leadership Track: providing technically-oriented overviews of important trends, best practices and innovations in the public sector.
  • The Technology Track: designed for technology decision makers, where MarkLogic engineers will take you “under the hood” of MarkLogic 5 and attendees will get a look inside MarkLogic technology and learn how it addresses big data challenges.
