QintetiQ Board Loses One, Adds One With Retirement, Appointment

QintetiQ recently announced changes to its board, both a retirement and appointment. Sir David Lees, the board’s deputy chairman and senior independent director since 2005, announced his intent to retire on Jan. 31, 2012.

The board has also gained a member, with Michael Harper joining as a non-executive director, effective Nov. 22, 2011. Harper will become the group’s deputy chairman and senior independent director following Lees’ retirement.

Harper’s background is in engineering and he is currently chairman of both the Vitec Group plc and Ricardo plc. He has been a non-executive director of the BBA Aviation plc board since 2005 and was made chairman in 2007. He was a director for Williams plc as well and upon its separation in 2000, became chief executive of Kidde plc.
