MarkLogic Corp. has grabbed a new executive vice president of the company’s worldwide sales.
The company announced that John Shap will join the company in this position and oversee MarkLogic’s global sales strategy and demand generation.
Shap brings with him more than 25 years of experience leading software companies, selling products and services in the retail, financial and healthcare industries.
“He is a proven industry veteran and his arrival enhances not only our executive team, but our ability to capitalize on the incredible market opportunity in big data,” MarkLogic President and CEO Ken Bado said. “As MarkLogic eyes opening up the Asia-Pacific market and further accelerating our growth in the U.S. and Europe, John gives us the necessary leadership to execute on all cylinders.”
Prior to his appointment, Shap held leadership positions with companies such as Hyperion Solutions and Siebel Systems. He also worked at Chordiant Software and SPSS Inc., which was acquired by IBM. Shap earned his bachelor’s degree in English from Northern Illinois Univesity.
