SAP User Groups Elect New Members to Leadership Board

Members of the SAP Users Group Executive Network have elected Don Whittington and Richard Thorpe into their leadership team, announced Wednesday.

Established in 2007, SUGEN is composed of fifteen user groups from countries around the world, which focuses on improving global communication by creating a single voice between customers and SAP.

Don Whittington currently serves as vice president and chief information officer at the Florida Crystals Corporation and Richard Thorpe as strategic adviser at the City of Johannesburg.

“The current leadership team is happy and proud to welcome Don Whittington and Richard Thorpe in our team,” said Tonnie Van der Horst, chairman of VNSG. “The leadership team is truly global now with members from four continents.”

The new SUGEN leadership team consists of:

  • Tonnie van der Horst – VNSG (the Netherlands)
  • Otto Schell – DSAG (Germany)
  • William Khalil – SUG-MENA (Middle East/North Africa)
  • Don Whittington – ASUG (North America)
  • Richard Thorpe – AFSUG (Africa)
