Triple Canopy Names New COO

Triple Canopy Inc. has made Harold “Jay” Arthur Christy Jr. chief operating officer effective Dec. 27.

Christy will direct global operations and oversee the company’s daily operations, according to the announcement. The appointment follows Kelvin Kai‘s decision to step down from the company as COO in order to spend more time with his family, said the release.

Christy’s assignments with the company have included director of business development in Asia and program manager in Haiti and Iraq. He was also senior vice president of operations and vice president of protective services.

“Having worked at both corporate headquarters and in the field for Triple Canopy, I now look forward to leading operations and working with the fine men and women whose individual contributions have made this company what it is today,” said Christy.

Christy has both business and military experience. He has a 20 year service career, serving with both the U.S. Army Rangers and the U.S. Special Operations Command. He was also commissioned as an Army Lieutenant and served as an Army aviator and a member of the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit.

Prior to joining Triple Canopy, Christy worked with DynCorp International on security related projects in Kabul, Afghanistan and Kellogg, Brown & Root in Tbilisi, Ga.

He earned his bachelor’s in resource management and master’s in educational technology from Troy State University. He also received professional certifications from ASIS and the Project Management Institute.
