Cubic Appoints 17-Year Company Vet as HR VP for Transportation Subsidiary

Cubic Corp.’s transportation systems subsidiary has promoted Mari McAvoy to the newly created position of vice president of worldwide human resources, Cubic announced Monday.

Prior to this appointment, McAvoy was HR director in charge of the subsidiary’s HR activities in North America. McAvoy joined Cubic 1995 and has worked in the subsidiary’s procurement and human resources departments.

“Mari’s advancement aligns with the increased sales, projects and innovations that continue to drive Cubic’s growth,” said Steve Shewmaker, president of Cubic’s transportation systems worldwide unit. “Through Mari’s remarkable career track and her hard work and education, we recognize and congratulate her on her rise within our dynamic organization.”

Cubic said it created McAvoy’s position to support the subsidiary’s 10 percent growth in employees in 2011.
