Northrop Grumman Makes ‘Div50’ List for Diversity Efforts, Small Business Outreach

Northrop Grumman was named fifth on DiversityBusiness.com‘s list of the top 50 companies for multicultural business opportunities, Northrop announced Monday.

DiversityBusiness.com assesses a company’s volume, consistency and quality of business initiatives to multicultural suppliers. More than 1.2 million businesses were questioned about diversity in business, according to Northrop.

Northrop Grumman cited its business opportunities to small businesses as a reason for its ranking. The company said it awarded more than $3.4 billion in subcontracts to small businesses in fiscal year 2011.

The company also has business programs intended to develop and increase subcontracting opportunities to small businesses. Northrop will receive the award at the Multicultural Business Conference in April in Mashantucket, Conn.
