CenturyLink Offering Colorado Teachers $150K in Tech Grants

CenturyLink and the Public Education and Business Coalition are partnering to provide $150,000 in technology grants for teachers in Colorado, CenturyLink announced Friday.

The CenturyLink Teachers and Technology Colorado Grant Program is accepting applications from teachers who want to implement technology in their classrooms through March 23.

Scott Russell, CenturyLink vice president and general manager in Denver and Northern Colorado, said more than 30 schools in the state are utilizing the grants this school year.

Last year, one fifth-grade class Windsor-based Skyview Elementary School used a grant to make videos with veterans in the region using iPads.

In the videos, veterans spoke about their experiences abroad and the different military branches.

In the past five years, the program has given away more than $700,000 in Colorado, reaching more than 27,000 students.
