Mitre Employees Win STEM Competitiveness Awards

Mitre Corp. employees won awards for leadership in the science, technology, engineering and math fields the week of Feb. 16 in Phladelphia at a competitiveness conference in Philadelphia. at the  Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math Global Competitiveness Conference.

Mitre announced Tuesday three of its employees were recognized at the 2012 Black Engineer of the Year Awards‘ competitiveness conference.

The conference is a gathering for STEM professionals and recognizes leaders who demonstrate they are committed to increasing the technology workforce, according to Mitre.

Mitre employees that received recognition for their contributions to this area include:

  • Dr. Kelvin Woods, leader of intelligence signal processing group in Mitre’s electronic systems and technologies technical center
  • Arissa Hodges, Mitre’s senior communications engineer at the company’s national security engineering center
  • Felipe Moreno-Hines, project team manager in the performance and economic modeling and analysis group in Mitre’s center for advanced aviation system development
