Northrop Grumman is participating in a White House initiative to help veterans transition into the civilian workforce, Northrop announced Tuesday.

Northrop pledged to support the Joining Forces Initiative, established by first lady Michelle Obama and Dr. Jill Biden.

Northrop has pledged to expand veteran outreach and recruitment while strengthening partnerships with military advocacy programs.

Northrop launched its IMPACT program nearly a decade ago, which provides career transitioning services for wounded veterans and currently employs more than 13,000 veterans.

Northrop also formed the Network of Champions in 2009, comprised of more than 90 companies and organizations working to provide job opportunities for wounded soldiers.

Northrop is a partner in the Military Spouse Employment Program which provides similar services for military spouses.
