Northrop Welcomes Students In for National Engineers Week

Northrop Grumman hosted students at its navigation systems facility in Woodland Hills, Calif. Feb. 24 to promote careers in science, technology, engineering and math.

The aerospace and defense technology company held the Engineering Student Day in Woodland Hills to celebrate National Engineers Week.

EWeek promotes public awareness of technology and engineering careers.

Students from Shirley Avenue Elementary, Monroe High School, Robert Fulton College Preparatory, San Marino Unified School District, California State University, Northridge and Cal Poly Pomona toured the facility throughout the day.

College students attended a professional development workshop.

Individual grants of $300 each are available to Woodland Hills-area teachers that support STEM projects.

Northrop also sponsors the engineering mentoring and scholarship program Worthwhile to Help High School Youth and an engineering scholarship program for high school seniors.

Raytheon also participated in National Engineers Week by volunteering employees at more than 45 STEM awareness events.
