ATK’s Charlie Prescourt Joins US Astronaut Hall of Fame

Charlie Prescourt, ATK

Charlie Precourt, a vice president and general manager at ATK’s aerospace division, was inducted into the U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame on May 5.

The Arlington, Va.-based firm said the space launch division leader was inducted alongside fellow astronauts Kevin Chilton and Chang-Diaz.

Seventy-nine astronauts have joined the Hall since 1990.

Prescourt joined ATK in 2005 as vice president of advanced programs and later began serving as vice president of strategy and business development.

Prior to joining ATK, he spent 15 years with NASA, where he flew in four Space Shuttle missions and logged more than 932 space hours.

He also served as deputy program manager for the International Space Station, chief of the Astronaut Corps and director of operations for NASA at the Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center in Star City, Russia.

The 23-year Air Force veteran retired from the branch in 2000 as a colonel.
