ICF Names Former CMS Adviser Kocot To The Board; Kesavan Comments

ICF International has appointed S. Lawrence Kocot to the board of directors, the company announced Wednesday.

He will bring knowledge of the healthcare area and experience from corporate board rooms, professional organizations and the federal government, Chairman and CEO Sudhakar Kesavan said in the release.

Kocat currently serves as a senior counsel at SNR Denton US LLP; a visiting fellow in economic studies program and deputy director at Brookings Institution’s Engelberg Center for Health Care Reform; and a board member at the Partnership for a Healthier America.

His government experience includes serving as a senior adviser to the administrator for Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

At CMS, he took part in launching a Medicare prescription drug benefit initiative and was involved in healthcare policy issues and operations.

He has also served as an adjunct fellow at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, chairman of the Commonwealth Health Research Board chairman and senior vice president and general counsel at the National Association of Chain Drug Stores.
