Dell Names HP, Intel Vet Marius Haas Enterprise Solutions Lead; Michael Dell Comments

Marius Haas

Dell has appointed Marius Haas president of the enterprise solutions division, where he will succeed Brad Anderson, previously head of that division since 2005.

The company said Tuesday Anderson is leaving the company to seek new opportunities.

Haas brings a mix of business, operational and strategic experience to the company, Chairman and CEO Michael Dell said in the release.

According to the company, Anderson helped lead the development of several server platforms and helped build the company’s portfolio of IP and networking storage through acquisitions of EqualLogic, Compellent and Force10.

Haas will be responsible for worldwide engineering, design, development and marketing of Dell enterprise products such as servers, networking and storage systems.

He previously worked at Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. L.P., where he identified and and pursued new investments in the technology sector and also provided operational guidance to existing portfolio companies.

Most recently, he served as senior vice president and worldwide general manager of Hewlett-Packard‘s networking division, where the company says the division more than tripled its annual networking revenue.

Before that, he served as senior vice president of strategy and corporate development and helped lead the company’s transformation effort from 2005 to 2009.

According to HP, he led execution and integration of acquisitions, oversaw the company’s strategic planning process and was responsible for strategic alliances.

He also held leadership positions at Compaq and Intel.

In February, Dell named 26-year IBM veteran John Swainson president of the software group.
