CGI’s Donna Ryan Comments on $2.5B GSA Cloud Email Award

CGI Federal will compete in all five areas of a General Services Administration cloud computing email vehicle, potentially worth $2.5 billion to all awardees through blanket purchase agreements.

The company announced Thursday it will compete to provide agencies cloud-based email, electronic records management, cloud-based office automation, migration services and integration services.

GSA said federal, state, local and tribal agencies may use the BPAs to acquire those services.

“GSA continues to lead from the front in order to ensure innovative technologies are easier to access and faster to ramp up for government agencies of all sizes,” said CGI Federal President Donna Ryan. “Over the past year, we have seen tremendous interest in cloud as agencies seek to streamline IT management and reduce expenses, while increasing their ability to flex to evolving business and mission needs.”

James Pyon, a vice president and cloud offering executive, said this email-as-a-service award complements GSA’s infrastructure-as-a-service BPA, which the company won a position on in 2010.

The company says it is one of only three firms holding positions on both of those GSA’s government-wide cloud BPAs.
