Executive Profile: Cynthia Shelton, General Dynamics VP Of Enterprise Missions Operations

Cynthia Shelton

Cynthia M. Shelton is VP of the Enterprise Mission Operations line of business for General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems’ Cyber Systems Division.

Headquartered in Fairfax, Va., the company provides end-to-end mission and cyber solutions in systems integration, development and operations support to customers in the defense, intelligence, maritime, space and homeland communities.

The Cyber Systems Division provides systems integration, development engineering and support, cyber situational awareness, digital forensics, and cyber analytics to the Department of Defense, the Intelligence Community, the Department of Homeland Security and Fortune 500 companies.

Under her leadership, the EMO LOB is the prime contractor at DHS’ Security’s United States Computer Emergency Readiness Team (US-CERT) program since its launch in 2003, General Dynamics provides domain experience in protecting “.gov”, the nation’s Internet infrastructure.

Ms. Shelton has over 20 years of experience within the Intelligence Community and over 15 years of combined service in the U.S. Air Force and Air Force Reserves as an Intelligence Analyst.

Before joining General Dynamics, she was vice president of the Identity Solutions Operation focusing on biometrics and identity management solutions for government and commercial customers with SAIC. Prior to this, Ms. Shelton supported the Operational Support Office of the National Reconnaissance Office with Booz Allen and Hamilton. She began her civilian career at GTE supporting the Intelligence Communications Architecture program.

Ms. Shelton is a 1982 graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy and a 1989 graduate of the Joint Military Intelligence College.
