Altegrity has appointed Carole Yanofsky a vice president, where she will also serve as chief ethics and compliance officer with responsibility for developing compliance systems and processes across the Altegrity organization, which includes USIS and Kroll.

She will also work with corporate leadership to help provide clients insight for mitigating risk, compliance and corporate governance, according to an Altegrity release.

Yanofsky brings both practical experience and expertise to the company, President and CEO Sharon Rowlands said in a release.

Before joining Altegrity, Yanofsky served as director of the office of compliance and risk management at the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board, a nonprofit organization created under the 2002 Sarbanes-Oxley Act that oversees audits of publicly-traded companies.

In that capacity, she was responsible for developing and implementing the board’s compliance and risk management program.

Previously, she served as an assistant general counsel at the PCAOB, where she advised the board, divisions and offices on legal and policy issues.

Before joining the PCAOB, Yanofsky was a litigation attorney at Zuckerman Speader LLP and London & Mead, where she specialized in white-collar criminal and civil enforcement matters, complex commercial litigation, government ethics and compliance matters.

She began her career as law clerk to Judge Henry H. Kennedy Jr. at D.C. Superior Court.
