CACI International Inc. has won a prime position in a maximum $7 billion contract to support software upgrades and prototyping for the U.S. Army Communications-Electronics Command’s (CECOM) Software and Systems Engineering Services Next Generation program, according to a company statement.

The indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract includes two base years, one two-year option and one option year.

It covers 16 work areas and supports the Army’s Software Engineering Center (SEC).

“This contract with the Army Communications-Electronics Command puts CACI at the center of the U.S. Armed Forces’ worldwide mission for software development, sustainment and acquisition,” said CACI president and chief executive officer Dan Allen.

CACI will provide worldwide support to software and acquisition solutions, support for the produced and deployed software and field support for tactical and business systems throughout the enterprise.

According to CACI, this contract expands its presence in the C4ISR market segment.

The SSES NexGen program will support Army systems and software across the entire life cycle,  from development through fielding and operational support.
