CACI International holds a prime position on a potential $780 million contract to provide the U.S. Navy acquisition and life-cycle support for training data products, the company announced Tuesday.

The Defense Department announced awardees of the eight-year indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract last month, for which the Navy received 44 offers (click over to GovCon Wire to find the identity of some of the winners).

“Government agencies are increasingly focused on enhancing their training capabilities as a priority for effective and efficient mission execution,” President and CEO Dan Allen said in a release.

John Mengucci, chief operating officer and president of U.S. operations, said the company received new work with the Naval Air Warfare Center through this award, for which CACI will provide instructional systems designers and multimedia developers.

The company will provide NAVAIR’s training division technology- and web-based training, job aids and performance support systems to measure the performance of service members.
