Steven Chabinsky, formerly the top cyber lawyer at the FBI, joined security startup Crowdstrike Sept. 10 as senior vice president and chief risk officer.
He will help the company address cybersecurity issues faced by its customers and help Crowdstrike manage privacy and risk matters, President and CEO George Kurtz said on his blog.
Chabinsky becomes the second former leading FBI official to join the firm, following its appointment of former top cyber crime official Shawn Henry in April as president of the services division.
In his most recent FBI post, Chabinsky oversaw the FBI’s investigations, intelligence analysis, policy development and major outreach efforts that focused on protecting the U.S. from cyber attack, cyber espionage, online child exploitation and Internet fraud.
