Lockheed Martin’s Stephanie C. Hill was honored for “career achievement in industry” at the 17th annual Women of Color Science, Technology, Engineering and Math conference in Dallas, Tx, according to a company release.

Hill, president of Lockheed’s information systems & global solutions–civil product line, was one of 37 Lockheed employees recognized at the international forum.

“Stephanie’s drive for excellence, career achievements and dedicated advocacy for STEM education inspire both employees and the workforce of tomorrow to reach new heights,” said IS&GS executive vice president Linda Gooden.

“We are proud that she is being recognized for the profound impact that she has made on so many,” she added.

Hill leads IS&GS in providing information technology systems and services. The business serves various non-defense U.S. government agencies, international governments and regulated commercial industries.

According to the company statement, Hill became a software engineer at Lockheed in 1987. She served as vice president of corporate internal audit and vice president and general manager of the electronic systems-mission systems & sensors.

Her portfolio included Army and Navy launching systems, Coast Guard air and surface systems, Army persistent threat detection systems, laser and sensor systems and ship automation.

Currently, she is an active board member of the Greater Baltimore Committee, the Maryland Business Roundtable, TechAmerica Public Sector Board of Directors and the RTCA NextGen Advisory Committee.

She served on the Maryland governor’s STEM Task Force in 2009 and continues to mentor STEM youth.
