BAE, CIA Vet John Gannon Joins Global Strategies Group Security Board; Damian Perl Comments

John Gannon

Dr. John Gannon, a veteran BAE Systems executive and senior U.S. intelligence official, has joined the board of Global Integrated Security at the Global Strategies Group.

The group said Gannon was BAE’s first president of the intelligence and security sector and also launched an analytic business during his time at the company.

Before joining the company in 2005, he held several government service positions including head of the White House team in the Department of Homeland Security‘s transition planning office and leading the creation of the department’s information analysis and infrastructure protection directorate.

Gannon brings leadership experience, knowledge of U.S. security policies and commercial sector experience, said Damian Perl, chairman and CEO of the GIS board.

“This combination will be of great value to GIS as the business seeks to grow its support to the US counterterrorism and counternarcotics missions and protect critical infrastructure at home and overseas,” he added.

He has also served as staff director for the House Homeland Security Committee.

From 1999 to 1997, he served as deputy director for intelligence at the CIA and held responsibility for preparing daily briefings for the president.

Gannon also served one term as chairman of the National Intelligence Council, which advised the president’s national security team on functional and global issues.

The former U.S. Navy officer and Vietnam veteran is also a recipient of the National Security Medal.
