The Shingo workshops will start Dec. 11 at the company’s office in Rochester, U.K., where the institute says attendees will receive training on its Principles of Operational Excellence.
At its Rochester site, nearly 1,400 BAE employees designs and produce electronic systems.
According to the institute, the Shingo model provides companies a framework to measure performance and identify avenues for improvement.
The Shingo Prize for Operational Excellence is named after Japanese industrial engineer Shigeo Shingo, whom the institute says helped create and write about many aspects of the manufacturing practices within Toyota’s production system.
