BAE, Smile Foundation Form Rural Healthcare Outreach Partnership; Dean McCumiskey Comments

BAE Systems will work with the Smile Foundation to develop healthcare and education programs in rural and urban communities in India, the Business Standard reports.

The company and the foundation will provide educational programs to about 1,000 children in Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Maharashtra, Odisha, Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh, according to the story.

Dean McCumiskey, BAE’s managing director and chief executive in India, told the Business Standard the collaboration with the non-profit organization aims to contribute to development priorities in communities where BAE works.

BAE and the foundation will also develop and operate a mobile medical unit in Bangladore.

The Smile Foundation is a non-governmental organization reaching more than 200,000 underprivileged children, women and youth across 25 Indian states, according to the report.
