Boeing Names 24-Year Vet Joseph Song South Korea Defense Lead; Dennis Muilenburg, Pat Gaines Comment

Boeing has appointed Joseph Song as vice president and managing director for the defense, space and security business in South Korea, effective immediately.

The company said he will be based in Seoul and have responsibility for maintaining customer relationships and forming new in-country partnerships for Boeing.

Song will report to Chris Raymond, vice president of business development and strategy and work with Boeing Korea President Pat Gaines.

“Over the long term, Joseph will work with our Korean and global partners to collaborate on innovative and affordable solutions for Korea, the Asia-Pacific region and beyond,” said Dennis Muilenburg, president and CEO of the BDS business.

“Korea has enduring security requirements that Boeing has helped address for more than 60 years,” Gaines said.

Song, a 24-year company veteran, previously managed customer relationships in the Asia-Pacific region as an international business development executive.

He has also held supplier management and program management positions within the C-17 Globemaster III program, C-130 Avionics Modernization Program and commercial 717 program.

Last month, Boeing announced Chris Smith as the company’s new vice president and managing director for the Saudi Arabia defense business.
