Calibre, Blue Canopy Named ‘Contractors of the Year’ at Wash GovCon Awards

Calibre Systems and Blue Canopy each received a “Contractor of the Year” distinction recognizing achievements during 2012 at the Greater Washington Government Contractor Awards Thursday night.

Calibre, an Alexandria, Va.-based management and technology services provider, won the award for companies with between $75 million and $300 million in annual revenue while the Reston, Va.-based Blue Canopy was recognized in the category between $25 million and $75 million in revenue.

The Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce, the Professional Services Council and Washington Technology sponsor the awards.

Blue Canopy is an information technology services contractor founded in 2001 that also provides government and commercial customers information security, technology integration and enterprise performance management services.

Mike Lee, a retired one-star Air Force general and former General Dynamics vice president, joined the company in May as a national security partner.

Two months prior, the company named 24-year finance veteran Bill Milligan chief financial officer after he spent more than 12 years at High Performance Technologies Inc. as CFO.
