Michelle Murphy serves as vice president of human resources and administration for BAE Systems Inc.‘s support solutions services sector (S2), which employs more than 12,000 employees across the U.S. at around 120 locations.
As BAE’s infrastructure and operations support business, S2 records annual turnover of around $2.9 billion and operates business areas for solutions in aerospace, maritime and defense.
It also specializes in ship repair and land, electronic, ordnance and protection systems.
Prior to assuming her current role, Murphy spent more than 15 years at Northrop Grumman, most recently as the corporate director of executive compensation and human resources.
In this role, she was responsible for the development and execution of company-wide compensation strategy to include executive and broad based salary, incentive and equity plans.
She also led all HR activities for Northrop’s corporate office.
Murphy has also led all HR activities for domestic and international mergers and acquisitions at Northrop, and over the course of eight years, handled HR and administration for Northrop’s aerospace systems, space technology and missile systems business areas, with revenues greater than $3 billion a year.
Murphy was previously an HR leader at SAIC. She holds a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
