Following an announcement earlier this week from Harris Corp., ITT Exelis announced Thursday it has also won a position on a $10 billion communications systems and services contract from the U.S. Army.
The five-year Global Tactical Advanced Communication Systems and Services contract supports orders from the Defense Department and other federal agencies.
“The initial task orders from this contract are expected to be released in 2013 and will fall under the three key task areas of development, production and deployment, and sustainment,” said Bob Durbin, acting vice president and general manager of the communications and force protection systems business area.
Areas covered under the multiple task order, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract include tactical C3 systems (command, control and communications), hardware, software, engineering services and logistics support services.
