Harris CEO Bill Brown Named Trustee at New Fla. State College

Bill Brown, Harris

Harris Corp. President and CEO Bill Brown has joined the board of trustees at Florida Polytechnic University, Sunshine State News reports.

Brown becomes the final member of the board, appointed by the Florida Board of Governors and Gov. Rick Scott.

The Lakeland-based institution became the state’s 12th public university this year after being split off from the University of South Florida, formerly acting as a branch campus for USF.

Brown became chief executive at Harris last year, succeeding Howard Lance, who was previously CEO since 2003.

The company says he is also involved in the Dean’s Advisory Board for the College of Engineering at Villanova University.
