Harris CEO William Brown Joining WH Telecom Industry Panel

Harris Corp. President and CEO William Brown has been appointed to the White House’s National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee, Florida Today reports.

The panel is responsible for giving the federal government advice on reliability and availability of telecommunications services regarding national security and emergency preparedness.

According to the Department of Homeland Security, the panel also includes cybersecurity, global communications infrastructure, interdependency and disaster response as major areas of focus.

Brown joined Harris as CEO in October 2011 after a 14-year career at United Technologies, where he most recently served as senior vice president of corporate strategy and development.

Prior to joining UTC, he was a senior engagement manager at McKinsey and Company.
