Lockheed Wins Commerce Malcolm Baldrige Award; James Berry Comments

Lockheed Martin‘s missiles and fire control business unit has won an award from the U.S. Commerce Department for performance, the company announced Wednesday.

The Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award recognizes U.S. companies for achievement in strategic planning, leadership, measurement and analysis, customer relations, results and workforce and operations focus.

“Receiving the Malcolm Baldrige Award is a tremendous honor for missiles and fire control,” said James Berry, president of the business.

The award is named after former Secretary Malcolm Baldrige and aims to promote the significance of quality and performance excellence as well as encouraging sharing best practices, according to the company.

Last month, the company won two awards from the Pentagon and the National Defense Industrial Association for its systems engineering work on a target acquisition program and a radar.
