Oracle to Hold Cloud Computing Events Worldwide; Thomas Kurian Comments

Oracle has announced that Oracle CloudWorld will be officially launched on January 15, 2013 in Dubai with Mark Hurd, president, kicking it off.

According to a company statement, CloudWorld is a series of events designed to encourage Oracle executives and customers to share their ideas as to how the Oracle Cloud can be used to promote business transformation.

Thomas Kurian, executive vice president of product development at Oracle said that cloud computing is changing businesses and IT through supporting innovations that generate novelty, savings, and value.

“Through a combination of best practices, unique insights and customized content, the events will help businesses leverage the cloud to drive their current and future success,” he added.

Event legs will be held in the following cities worldwide:

  • London
  • Los Angeles
  • Mexico City
  • Mumbai
  • Munich
  • New York City
  • Singapore
  • Sydney
  • Tokyo

Each leg will involve key note sessions focusing on Oracle’s strategy and roadmap for cloud and social.

The events will feature localized contents, multiple tracks, in-depth Q&A sessions, real-world case studies, and live demonstrations.
Specialized discussions will also be held for sales and marketing, customer service and support, HR and talent tanagement, and finance and operations solutions.

Application developers will also enjoy DBAs highlighting the use of Oracle database and Java cloud services and also explain how social media can be leveraged to track and engage their consumers.

The event was developed to support the release of Oracle Cloud’s expansion during Oracle OpenWorld 2012.

Oracle Cloud is an all-encompassing solution with more than 25 million users worldwide.
