Report: Raytheon CEO William Swanson Says Foreign Sales Can Help Withstand Sequestration

Raytheon CEO William Swanson has reportedly told investors the company can withstand the effects of cuts under sequestration, primarily through increased activity in foreign military sales.

According to Business Insider, Swanson compared sequestration to a “speed bump,” saying the company would get out of it quickly.

Foreign sales make up for nearly a quarter of the company’s business, he said, adding those sales are not subject to the sequester.

The company is providing engineers to Israel for helping build new interceptors for that country’s Iron Dome system.
