SAP Names Subsidiary’s CEO Bob Calderoni to Global Board; Bill McDermott, Jim Hagemann Snabe Comment

Bob Calderoni, chairman and chief executive officer of SAP AG‘s Aribasubisidary, has joined SAP’s global managing board upon the completion of that company’s acquisition of Ariba last month.

SAP said Calderoni will oversee SAP’s cloud-related supplier assets including the Ariba Network, SAP’s cloud-based network for inter-enterprise collaboration.

“We congratulate Bob on joining our global managing board and helping us become a EUR2 billion ($2.54 billion USD), profitable cloud business by 2015,” co-CEOs Bill McDermott and Jim Hagemann Snabe said in a release.

Calderoni joined Ariba in 2000 and SAP credits him with transforming the company from a procurement applications vendor to a global business commerce network.

Before joining Ariba, he served as senior vice president of finance and chief financial officer at Avery Dennison, SVP of finance and corporate controller at Apple and CFO and finance VP for IBM’s storage systems division.
