The University of Maryland, Baltimore County will offer a series of courses to help companies learn how to sell their goods and services to the federal government, Gary Haber reported Oct. 17 for the Baltimore Business Journal.

UMBC will partner with TargetGov, a consulting firm that advises companies on federal government contracting, to offer classes that will be open to the entire business community.

The courses include the federal government procurement process, security clearance requirements and writing winning bid proposals.

Ellen Hemmerly, bwtech@UMBC’s executive director, said the program is designed to help young companies expand their customer base into the government sector.

She added that the classes will begin in January and the length of the courses will vary from half a day to several days.
