Boeing Promotes Dreamliner Lead Scott Fancher to Lead New Airline Programs Development

Boeing has promoted Scott Fancher, head of the company’s 787 Dreamlinerprogram, to lead development for all of the company’s new airline programs.

The Seattle Times reports Ray Conner, president and CEO of Boeing’s commercial airplanes segment, promoted Fancher as part of a larger reorganization of the segment’s lead executives.

Fancher will continue to lead the777 and 777X programs until the company names new leaders, according to the Times.

Pat Shanahan, head of current airplane programs, will be responsible for jet assembly lines and supply chains and also oversee the company’s Dreamliner manufacturing facility in North Charleston, S.C.

Times reporter Dominic Gates also writes Conner also split the existing manufacturing and quality organization into two distinct units, with Lindsay Anderson leading the quality unit and reporting to Stan Deal, head of commercial airplines global supply chain.
