Computer Sciences Corp. announced Monday it is one of seven awardees on a potential $900 million U.S. Navy contract to support C5ISR systems (command, control, communications, computers, combat systems, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance).

Under the potential five-year contract, the company will compete for task orders to provide acquisition, installation and follow-on support to the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Atlantic.

Alan Weakley, vice president and general manager of CSC’s North American public sector defense group, said the company intends to bring both mission experience and commercial best practices to SPAWAR.

SSC Atlantic is responsible for helping the Navy and other Defense Department agencies fulfill requirements of C5 systems, Weakley said.

The Navy awarded the contract during the third quarter of CSC’s fiscal year 2013.
