IBM Names 25-Year Vet Vanitha Narayanan India Managing Director

IBMlogoIBM has appointed Vanitha Narayanan managing director of IBM India to oversee sales and marketing in the India and South Asia regions, the Times of India reports.

writes Narayanan will also lead services and global delivery operations in Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka.

The 25-year company veteran succeeds Shanker Annaswamy, who will serve as a senior adviser to the company.

Annaswamy joined IBM India in 2004 as general manager and had served as regional GM for India and South Asia since 2007.

Narayanan has been a part of the India and South Asia regional business since 2009, leading sales and distribution and serving as managing partner for global business services.

She previously served as vice president of IBM’s Asia-Pacific communications sector, and as global VP for IBM’s telecom solutions offerings.

Narayanan is also member of IBM’s integration and values team, a group of senior global executives selected by the IBM chairman.
