ARINC Software Selected for Zion Nuclear Power Station Decommissioning Project

ARINC announced Tuesday that its Advanced Information Management platform has been selected by EnergySolutions for the Zion Nuclear Power Station Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation Project.

“ARINC’s AIM SCS solution will provide the value, stability and performance Zion requires, now and in the future,” said Frank Koren, product director of ARINC Security Systems.

The software will be used for the Security Computers System to monitor and control Zion’s ISFSI facility while the Zion Nuclear Power Station is being dismantled for decommission.

Spent fuel from the decommissioned nuclear power station will be transferred from the spent fuel pool into dry casks and placed into a newly constructed ISFSI structure.

The ARINC AIM SCS solution will be used as primary command and control platform to provide full-range intrusion detection, video surveillance, access control, integrated badging and on-site security personnel.

ARINC’s security solutions project team is also expected to perform systems integration-related functions.

The AIM SCS platform is compliant with CFR regulations mandated by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
