For its continuing series of original profiles on GovCon industry thought leaders, GovCon Executive has honed its focus on those holding responsibility for contracts and procurement functions at their respective companies.
Contracts executives pour over the details for terms such as indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity, firm-fixed-price and other technical regulations that help form how companies pursue business in the federal market.
In its series of profiles, GovCon Executive traced the professional background and experience of contracts executives such as Debbie Thurman of URS Corp., Rose Gazarek of Oceus Networks and Chris Wolf of the Louis Berger Group.
Thurman, a VP of contracts and procurement, oversees a team of nearly 300 employees for URS’ Germantown, Md.-based federal services business.
She is also a 24-year U.S. Air Force veteran and serves on the National Contract Management Association’s executive advisory council.
Gazarek holds oversight over compliance, sales administration and other contracting activities at Reston, Va.-based Oceus as that company’s VP of contracts and procurement.
Gazarek serves on the NCMA’s executive advisory council and on the association’s contract management leadership development committee, among other roles in the group.
Wolf, a 30-year contracting veteran, brings both federal and commercial market experience to his role as Louis Berger’s VP of contracts and procurement.
While at the FBI, he led program intended to upgrade the bureau’s information technology infrastructure.
