Jim Thigpen: SAIC Providing Navy Tech Under $667M Testing, Integration IDIQ

SAICEGCELogoScience Applications International Corp. is aiming to integrate the U.S. Navy‘s production functions for strategic and tactical platforms into a single process under a potential $667 million contract.

The company said the three-year testing and integration support contract covers the Common Submarine Radio Room, Tactical Operations Intercommunications Network and Naval Tactical Command Support System programs along with deployable mission modules.

“Our efforts and experience with large-scale integration and systems engineering efforts have set the stage for our work on this contract,” said Jim Thigpen, a senior vice president and business unit general manager.

Thigpen said the company will provide technology to the Navy and aim to grow the number of platforms available to warfighters.

Space and Naval Warfare Center Atlantic’s program office for C5ISR (command, control, communications, computers, combat systems, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance) system of systems engineering and integration awarded the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract, the company said.

SAIC will also provide SSC Atlantic testing, large-scale fabrication, non-developmental item procurement, interim repair and maintenance services and training services.
