Lockheed Donating $315K For Syracuse STEM Program

LockheedLogoLockheed Martin is donating $315,000 to the Syracuse, N.Y. public school district to promote the science, technology, engineering and mathematics fields to middle and high school students.

Fourteen schools in the city will receive the donation as part of a $1 million nationwide grant for a program aimed at increasing the number of college engineering students, the Post Standard reports.

Project Lead The Way aims to provide students curriculum, professional development and a network of educators, students, universities and professionals, Mary Kay DeVore writes.

Bill Ottman, the district’s coordinator for science and technology, told the Post Standard Lockheed is investing in students that could one day become employees.
