Alion Science & Technology holds a three-year $183 million U.S. Air Force contract modification to help the branch manage acquisition programs such as the F-35.

Effective Jan. 1, Alion is also helping the Air Force manage the KC-46, C-17, F-22, Small Diameter Bomb, Global Hawk and Predator unmanned aerial vehicle programs, the company said Monday.

Rob Hirt, Alion senior vice president and manager of the technology, engineering and operational solutions sector, said the company will recommend business re-engineering changes to the Air Force’s acquisition oversight activities.

Hirt added Alion personnel will provide the Air Force lifecycle support at the headquarters level, the F-35 program office and other acquisition-related organizations.

Alion’s team will analyze requirements and acquisition strategies and develop databases and enterprise architectures for the assistant Air Force secretary for acquisition and the F-35 program office.

The company will also model, simulate, test and evaluate for the branch.
